Enquire NowThe Nitronic® 60 stainless steel can maintain performance with intermittent exposure to temperatures up to 1800° F, making it useful for automotive valves and other potentially high-heat situations. Nitronic® 60 is also highly resistant to corrosion, with a resistance somewhere between 304 and 316 stainless steel, while having nearly double the yield strength of both these steels. While 316 stainless steel may be somewhat more corrosion resistant, Nitronic® 60 has superior resistance to chloride pitting, as well as stress and crevice corrosion, making it more suitable for marine applications than 316. Additionally, its oxidation resistance is comparable to 309 stainless steel and it has a low-temperature impact.
